Victory in Europe Day

Today marks the 75th anniversary of VE Day, when the Allies accepted the surrender of Nazi Germany after six years of war, and the end of the Second World War in Europe. The war would continue for another few months in Asia however.

The AGC and it’s antecedents, due to the nature of the work, have always served all around the world, and during WWII it was no different. Below we have some pictures taken by a member of the RAPC of the celebratory garden party at the British Residency in Srinagar, India following the surrender.
